SONAR-HM
High Modulus Carbon Mast
Incredibly thin. Impressively fast. We have reduced the thickness of the submerged part of our new high-modulus prepreg carbon masts by over 15% compared to our standard carbon masts, while simultaneously increasing both bending and torsional stiffness. The HM80 is preferred for disciplines without wind power – surf foiling, pumping, and downwind. The shorter line length across the entire mast length reduces drag and increases maneuverability. This results in more glide, more efficient pumping, and faster turns. The HM85 covers all disciplines, with a focus on wing foiling. Wind-powered disciplines require edging against the wind to generate propulsion. Part of this propulsion comes from the front wing, another from the mast. To deliver this drive efficiently, the line length in the submerged part of the mast is slightly longer. It increases towards the mast tip to maximize stiffness without increasing drag, as this part of the mast is out of the water when foiling. A more efficient underwater shape means less drag and thus higher and more easily achievable top speeds. Ventilation at the mast is now a thing of the past. We have paid special attention to this detail, so that regardless of sea conditions, ventilation at the rear part of the mast is significantly reduced. The HM105 is optimized for racing. The thickness of the submerged part of the mast is another 1 mm thinner than that of the HM80 and HM85 to achieve maximum top speed. Therefore, this mast is not suitable for jumping. As with the HM85, the line length in the submerged area is designed to provide good lift drive, while the line length above the waterline increases to maximize stiffness. A more efficient underwater shape means less drag and thus higher and more easily achievable top speeds.

High Speed Stabilizer
Flat, loose, and even faster – the new S-Stabilizer is a high-speed upgrade for the Sonar foil system for experienced riders. As we have expanded our front wing range, we had to match the lift of the front wing with the stabilizer. While your front wing generates vertical lift, your stabilizer acts downward, preventing the front wing from diving. A larger stabilizer means more pressure on the front foot, while a smaller stabilizer means less pressure on the front foot. The North stabilizers are mounted above the fuselage, which avoids turbulence in the flow field of the front wing and allows for a smoother ride. This top mounting also gives the rider an early warning of exceeding the limit – the stabilizer breaks the water surface first, giving you a better chance to recover before your front wing comes too high. Like the front wings, all Sonar stabilizers are made from prepreg carbon, ensuring optimal stiffness and direct performance. The thin profile reduces drag, while the material properties maintain structural integrity and stiffness. Stabilizers have a significant impact on performance. As you progress to smaller wing sizes, we recommend switching to a smaller stabilizer to be more maneuverable. Experienced riders will really feel the difference. A new tail wing can have a big impact on your style.

SONAR HA
High Aspect Front Wing
The Sonar High Aspect Front Wing Series is designed for maximum speed and efficiency across a variety of disciplines – from kite foiling to prone foil surfing. With this wing type, you require minimal pumping effort and power to glide. The shorter profile depth defines the profile strength, and with a thin profile, there is less drag. The wingspan provides stability and a slightly larger turning radius than a wing with a lower aspect ratio of the same size. The wingtips are refined to ensure there is no ventilation during peak exceedances, giving you the ability to take tighter turning radii at higher speeds without losing speed.
