VIVA WING
The VIVA combines a balanced medium-aspect design with an elongated leading edge, resulting in quick acceleration, plenty of lift, and a nimble riding feel, perfect for waves, downwind runs, and versatile freeriding. Through the graduated load distribution with Aeroflex 55, Code-Tec 85, and Ultra-X materials, the load on the canopy is efficiently spread, distortions are reduced, and a harmonious, forward-driving sensation is created. Thanks to the slim strut and light Ultra-X wingtips, the wing is especially light, agile, and playful to steer. The deep profile with medium chord length delivers powerful low-end strength while remaining neutral and balanced, so the VIVA performs well in both light and strong winds. A medium dihedral and upward-curved wingtips optimize stability and control even in flag-out wave riding.
Versatile, balanced, light - freeride - surf
- BALANCED MEDIUM ASPECT The straight central Leading Edge and the fuller Wing-Tips of the VIVA provide powerful thrust, quick acceleration, and strong lift. The rounder outline and straight Trailing Edge simultaneously ensure smooth gliding, high agility, and a wide wind range – ideal for waves, jumps, downwind, and versatile freeriding.
- GRADIENT LOAD CANOPY The fabric consists of lightweight Aeroflex 55 in the front area, Code-Tec 85 in the middle section, and a series of particularly durable Ultra-X at the Trailing Edge. Lightweight material where low loads occur, and tough fabric in high-stress zones – for efficient power transfer, minimal deformation, and a calm, forward-pulling ride feel.
- LIGHT & AGILE An extremely slim strut and light, narrow Ultra-X Wing-Tips, combined with stiff, lightweight fabric materials, reduce swing weight and air resistance. The result: an exceptionally light, direct, and playful wing in hand.
- MEDIUM DIHEDRAL (12.5°) The medium dihedral of 12.5° combines the agility of a steeper dihedral with the efficient power delivery and stability of a flatter design. This ensures controlled handling, high stability, and strong all-round performance – especially impressive in flag-out mode.
- UPWARD-SWEPT WING-TIPS The upward-swept Wing-Tips increase stability, neutrality, and glide performance, making the wing particularly forgiving – both when flagging and at full power.
- DEEPER PROFILE CURVE, MEDIUM CHORD The deeper profile generates strong low-end power, while the medium chord perfectly balances agility and stability. Short enough for direct, responsive handling, long enough for gliding and control – for a balanced, lively riding experience in all wind conditions.
- FLUTTER-FREE FLIGHT Four stiff fiberglass battens on the trailing edge, combined with the optimally tensioned Ultra-X zone in the tail area, ensure an extremely smooth, quiet, and flutter-free flight – regardless of wind strength.
- MINIMAL WINDOWS Discreetly placed PU windows in the middle Code-Tec-85 area provide optimal forward and downwind visibility. This increases safety without compromising the canopy’s performance.
- COOL GREY LEADING EDGE The light grey leading edge reflects solar heat and keeps air pressure stable. This prevents overpressure, protects the material, and extends the wing’s lifespan.
- ERGO FLAG HANDLE The ergonomically low-positioned flag-out handle with a wide, soft grip and stiff strap base allows effortless, direct, and comfortable control in freefly mode.
- DUAL PUSH-TURN VALVES User-friendly push-turn valves with high airflow make inflation and deflation easier. Separate valves for the strut and leading edge allow individual pressure adjustment for maximum performance and flexibility in changing conditions and disciplines.
- PISTOL GRIP BOOM (SOLD SEPARATELY) Choose between Prepreg UD Carbon or Aluminum Pistol Grip Boom – depending on budget and preference. The ergonomic soft-touch design offers optimal control in (semi-)flagged mode, facilitates tacking and jibing, provides excellent roll control, and a non-slip, comfortable grip even during long sessions.
Gradient Load Construction
AEROFLEX 55 (Front Canopy)
Ultra-light front canopy area (55 GSM) – enables a weight reduction of about 10%, ensures more even force distribution, and provides a forward-pulling riding feel through controlled expansion in the front area.
CODE-TEC 85 (Mid Canopy)
High-strength mid canopy material (85 GSM) – provides stability in the middle section of the canopy and offers a balanced combination of responsiveness and durable performance.
ULTRA-X (Canopy Trailing Edge & Wingtips)
Exclusive high-tech laminate, developed together with Challenge Sailcloth™ (86 GSM) – four times more durable than conventional fabrics. Ultra-X reduces swing weight at the tips, prevents damage from tearing further, minimizes stretch, and keeps the wing precise and responsive session after session.
HTD160 (Leading Edge & Strut)
High-strength Dacron for leading edge and strut (160 GSM) – stiff, robust, and reliable. The material with a cool gray tone ensures stable pressure (PSI) and a permanently shape-stable structure.
- WING WAIST LEASH All Starboard Wings come standard with a sturdy waist leash – for safety, comfort, and freedom of movement. Alternatively, a wrist leash cuff is available as an interchangeable accessory.
- WING BAG The ventilated wing bag provides space for the wing, pump, and accessories, and can even hold an assembled boom up to 109 cm in length – without disassembly. Made in cooperation with Waste2Wear from recycled plastic bottles.
