The Ultra Team features Ho’okipa, a material technology that enables the kite to find the optimal balance between responsiveness, low weight, and long team performance.
Ho’okipa consists of Ultra PE fibers that make the leading edge 10x stronger and stiffer than conventional fabrics. The combination of our proven Single Strut Geometry with the new High Pressure Leading Edge with a narrow diameter and the High Tension Canopy is the key to the Ultra Team flying forward in the window and creating the perfect balance for light wind performance.

  • LOAD FRAME: The Airush Load Frame is the key to setting the ultimate benchmark in durability without compromising on weight. Ultra-high modulus yarns bear the brunt of the canopy, preventing stretching and increasing long-term performance. The Load Frame is further enhanced by WebTech, which is deployed in areas traditionally occupied by Dacron. This allows us to minimize or eliminate the heavier fabric and use the high modulus ballistic weave fibers instead - increasing strength and minimizing weight.
  • WEBTECH: WebTech minimizes or replaces traditional Dacron reinforcement by exposing the wider loads through a web “subframe”.

  • HO’OKIPA: Developed in collaboration with Challenge Sailcloth, this unique Ultra-PE composite leading edge material is 25%
    lighter and 10 times stronger than conventional fabrics. This allows for 50% higher pressure, resulting in greater rigidity combined with a thinner leading edge. The result is super-fast responsiveness, coupled with excellent handling and of course the long-term performance you get from Airush
    expect. UHMWPE fibers (excluding the brand names Dyneema® or Spectra®) are the lightest and strongest fibers available on the market with a tensile strength 15 times greater than steel. UHWMPE is manufactured through a gel-spun extrusion process that creates extremely long chains of polyethylene aligned along a molecular backbone. This orientation effectively transfers the load through the fiber, providing high elastic modulus and strength.
