The Gen-R is a key model for surf racing and all-round paddling. The slightly recessed deck has been optimized to offer high stability while being easy to handle when starting on the beach and getting back on the board. The lower rail height and reduced nose thickness are highly sought after in races, buoy turns, and guarantee easy handling in choppy conditions. A great compromise between the flatwater sprint model and the all-star model for the open sea.
DESIGN PROFILE
FASTER ACCELERATION: The low nose rocker and narrow nose outline increase acceleration and overall efficiency on flat water. This acceleration is important for technical races, beach starts, and explosive sprints after buoy turns.
STABLE TURNING AND STABILITY FROM THE TAIL: The wider tail contour combined with the flat deck makes it very easy to turn, maneuver, and remain stable during the turn despite the conditions.
NEW THINNER PROFILE, LIGHTWEIGHT BUILD: One of the most important design criteria for the Gen-R was as low a weight as possible and the thin profile of a technical raceboard. This much-anticipated model was built thinner for faster acceleration, easy beach starts, and to guarantee performance in the surf. The thinner profile also helps maintain control in crosswinds and side chop.
FINS
NEW 10” FIN BOX: The Gen-R is our first race model with a 10-inch fin box for fine-tuning fin preference. We equipped the Gen-R with a larger box for more adaptability. Short-distance races would benefit from a fin placed further forward for quick turns, while longer races benefit from a fin placed further back in the box. The placement of the box varies in downwinding, as some riders prefer less or more tracking when surfing.
PREPREG CARBON FIN: The 3k pre-impregnated carbon biaxial is an ultra-light weave and ensures super stiff performance of the entire fin. The trailing edge features super sharp 0.4 mm width for clean hydrodynamics. The new fin series guarantees speed and performance like never before.
SLICING NOSE: The narrow outline on the nose is designed to glide efficiently in both flat water and ocean waves. The lower nose rocker is similar to the Sprint in design and extends the waterline for faster acceleration and longer glide. Although the low nose rocker helps with early detection of bumps, the rider should still apply additional pressure to the rear
area of the board when surfing bumps.
NEW SEMI-SUCCESSED DECK: The deck has been designed to have a slightly lowered footprint to provide unprecedented stability. At the same time, the side walls are low, which makes starting from the beach and getting back on the board much easier.
ROUND RAILS: The soft, round rails run the entire length of the board. This makes it possible to keep your balance even in choppy conditions and to be predictable in the surf and downwind. The round rails are wide for stability and balance.
FLAT BOTTOM: The flat bottom is fast in all
Conditions, from surf to sprint. In addition, it makes driving in flat and choppy ocean conditions very predictable and controllable.
MULTIPLE HANDLE POSITIONS: The Gen-R is the
Specialist in technical racing and beach racing. The handles are modular with our screw system to fine-tune handle positioning.
NEW BUNGEE-TIED OWN: Ensures a dry ride for your gear/luggage. Available in 14’0″ x 27″ and 14’0″ x29″.
NEW BOARD SOCK: Reduces paper waste
and protects the board from dust, scratches and UV damage. Made from stretchy polyester, it adapts to different board shapes. The iconic blue board sock with secure drawstring closure ensures optimal protection.
NEW OPTIMIZED NOSE VOLUME: The nose volume is designed to withstand medium waves and also works in the surf and flat water during technical racing. It is generally thinner than the All Star – around 4cm in thickness.
WIDE TAIL: Features a wide tail with a sharp release. Turning is super easy on this model, and the wide part gives you the most control possible even in the surf.
SINGLE DRAIN HOLE: A single center drain hole allows water to drain completely from the semi-recessed deck. Although hardly any water remains on the deck when paddling, it conducts
the drain drains excess water from the cockpit. The recessed carbon scupper minimizes air resistance and ensures clean drainage.
